On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, Osceola County deputies were involved in an officer-involved shooting near the Target in the 4700 block of West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. During the apprehension of four suspects, two deputies discharged their agency-issued firearms. One suspect is deceased, two suspects were transported to the hospital and one suspect was detained on the scene. All deputies involved in the shooting are currently in good health. Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez contacted the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and requested an investigation into the use of force used by the deputies. The Sheriff’s Office is fully cooperative and welcomes the independent investigation. The names and any identifiable information of the deputies involved in the shooting are protected by Marsy’s Law and will not be released. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
