Paid Time Off (PTO)
Members gain 16 hours of PTO each month.
Longevity Benefit
The Longevity Benefit awarded to members who have completed five (5) or more years of continuous service with the agency. Beginning with the 5th completed year of service, eight (8) additional hours are added to the member’s PTO balance for each year of service.
Example: A ten-year member receives 96 hours of PTO each year. An additional 48 hours of longevity pay is awarded and deposited into his/her PTO on the merit date.
Education Reimbursement
Members who attend an accredited college or university can receive compensation for completed classes. Members pursuing an undergraduate degree can receive $2,000 per fiscal year; the graduate degree can receive $3,000 per fiscal year.
Take Home Vehicle
After successful completion of the Field Training Program (FTO), the member is assigned a patrol vehicle and granted take-home privileges. The Take-Home Vehicle Program is available to members living in the county, as well as those out of the county, with certain specifications.
Salary
- Starting pay with less than two (2) years’ experience:
$23.08 an hour/$48,000 a year - Deputy starting minimum pay with 2-5 years’ experience:
$23.88 an hour/$49,680 a year - Deputy starting minimum pay with 5-10 years’ experience:
$24.72 an hour/$51,418.80 a year - Deputy starting minimum pay with 10+ years’ experience:
$25.59 an hour/$53,218.46 a year
