Christine Burns serves as the Director of the Finance Division, where she oversees and is responsible for all financial aspects of the Sheriff’s Office, including the agency-wide budget, accounting, payroll, procurement/agreements, grants, and agency supply.
Christine began her career with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in 1994 in the Communications Division as a 911/Communications Dispatcher. In 1996, with a background in accounting, Christine had the opportunity to transfer to the Finance and Human Resources Division. She ascended within the division and served as a Finance Technician, Specialist, and Manager before being promoted to Finance and Purchasing/Property Division Director.
Christine earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Columbia College in 2015. She is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association, Florida Government Finance Officers Association, and the Certified Payroll Association. During her tenure at the Sheriff’s Office, Christine has been recognized for the Employee of the Month award in March 1995, June 2004, and June 2015. In 2015, she was awarded Employee of the Year.
Christine is a native Floridian, born and raised in the Osceola County area. She has been married to her husband, Chris, for the past 33 years, and they have a beautiful daughter, Lindsey
